I like watching this better than the tournament....Rakers had a jump in the
straps against the 220 champ and by the third time the 220 had a fair start
but was a little burnt. I'd put some money on that match. What's with
Karen Bean being the party pooper!!!!
Who is the light weight that looks a little like Engen? Pretty tough!
Cobra, how about training one day and stop relying on the technique which
everyone has copied by now, although never exactly.

Gary, you are a stone cold jack ass.....you are taking the brent thing
WAYYYYYYY to far.
You TOTALLY missed the point of the posts and sound like an asshole with
all the baloney talk.
He always got respect.....but if.....IF all the top 198ers showed there is
reason in peoples eyes that he isn't the favorite......doesn't take away
from his accomplishments and it isn't his fault nobody has been
competing.....but you totally miss the point and are beating it to death

evidence in the 98 class clip that he wasn't given respect to win that
class by a few. It was a good story to talk about. National titles V. who
shows. And now that the clip is almost two weeks old. It has been there
done that..and we will look for a new story to talk about. But trust
me...on that day...the story was fresh.
Will RVJ defend his title at ROTN? I will say if you do..that you have the
advantage and should be given the respect. If someone says you will get
destroyed..I would step up and have the same conversation.

Hey Rob,
I have to agree that just because you win a national title or even 5
national titles does mean you are the best. Actually you could be the 5th
best because a lot of the best don't travel. And brackets can play a huge
roll. It took me awhile as well but now I believe Brent should be #1. He
just has to beat Chad to prove it.
But I am curious. Who in the 198's do you think can beat Brent. I would
think you could but I here you are 220 now. IMO he would be able to TR
Georgie or Chad. Again IMO If all the same showed as the ROTN 2008.
Except for you, I would consider him the favorite.

Just because somebody says Brent's not gonna win doesn't mean they don't
respect him, saying he'll get killed seems stupid though because no 198
pounder in the USA can beat Brent easily imo. As for the ROTN, there are
definitely a few armwrestlers that people could predict to win other than
Brent that would be reasonable picks imo. Right now I would pick Brent at
#1 but would not be surprised if Chad, Chris Chandler, or Mike Selearis
won. Lets not forget about Sonny Larson, either, if he's on his A game he
could have a shot.

My goal is to promote title credibility. I think it gives the sport bad
juju when we talk about titles not meaning much because 'blank' didn't
show. If I am an up and coming new puller and I want that National
title....but I constantly hear how the guy who holds the title only does so
because 'blank' wasn't there. It dilutes what that title means. (just my
opinion)
so I will always fall on that side of the debate.
It doesn't sound like RVJ is ready to leave the 198.

I do agree, Gary, winning nationals is a huge accomplishment let alone
winning 6 nationals in a row, so what if some guys didn't show up not
Brent's fault. Same goes for any winner of any big tournament, anybody
could have been there.

I am done with 198s........love the class , but I was a pretty big and lean
198 and with my recent weight gain I am too high to suck down now to
198...........now I get to chase John around..lol
I think with the way georgi pulls brent is likely to be hooked.
I also think chad is crafty and versatile.
It is all heresay, he may very well beat them both.........I do know based
on his performance the list in my mind has shrunken.
I can't get past how razor put him in a hook twice and won.........I don't
think razor is known for his hand.
I say Brent probabally has stepped up his game and don't want to keep
harping on him, he is a really nice guy and don't want to take anything
from him.......at this point..until proven otherwise.........he is number
1.
message boards are a bitch sometimes, you can't tell the context someone is
saying something in......never wanted to knock the guy, just discussing my
opinion......now my opinion pretty much mirrors bobs.
see ya at ROTN.........least I don't have to worry about making weight this
year, pretty sure I can suck down to super heavies.

Well..I am...and always will be a RVJ fan...love your energy on the table
and will miss you in the 98 class but can't wait to see how you mix up the
heavies..see you there.
